Janine MacNamara

I started training to be a Pilates Instructor at the age of 38 when after a career as a fitness professional, I started to suffer from repeated injuries and noticed that it was taking longer and longer for my body to recover.

I discovered to my dismay that despite years of high intensity exercise and what must have been thousands of abdominal crunches, my core was intrinsically weak. This culminated in me suffering from a prolapsed disc in my lumbar spine.

Pilates became the basis of my rehabilitation from that injury and I spent the next couple of years training to become a fully comprehensive Balanced Body Pilates Instructor.

I have since fully recovered from my back injury with no recurrence of the symptoms which I put down to my strengthened core and more flexible spine.

I regularly attend ongoing educational workshops and training days to keep myself up to date and able to help my clients to reach their specific goals.

My love and enthusiasm for Pilates continues to grow and I hope that comes across in my teaching.
